The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, however the schedule hasn’t been revealed because of the stalemate around this matter. After vehemently opposing the hybrid approach, the PCB ultimately consented to it on a reciprocal basis.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy 2025 finally declared on Thursday that, rather than Pakistan, the tournament’s official host, India’s matches at the Champions Trophy 2025 next year would take place at a neutral location. As part of the agreement, Pakistan will also play its matches on neutral ground and avoid travelling to India for any ICC tournaments till 2028.
The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, however the schedule hasn’t been revealed because of the stalemate around this matter. After vehemently opposing the hybrid approach, the PCB ultimately consented to it on a reciprocal basis.
Since former BCCI Secretary Jay Shah assumed the role of ICC head, this is the first significant ruling. It is anticipated that this hybrid model will avoid any deadlocks before significant events in the upcoming years, for all events up until 2028.
“This will apply to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (hosted by India), the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (hosted by India and Sri Lanka), and the forthcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 (hosted by Pakistan), which is scheduled to take place in February and March 2025,” the world organisation stated in a statement.
